Britt concerts in Jacksonville

Britt is the summer concert series that puts Jacksonville on the map. It is held on a hillside in the foothills of the Rogue Valley, on the former estate of Peter Britt, a Jacksonville pioneer.

What it is

The Britt Music and Arts Festival is run by a nonprofit, formally named The Peter Britt Gardens Music and Arts Festival Association, which describes itself as "your home for music and arts in Jacksonville, Oregon." According to Wikipedia, the festival began in 1963 when a Portland conductor and friends, looking for a place in southern Oregon, chose the Britt estate for its natural acoustics and views of the valley. The current Britt Pavilion was built in 1978. Britt's own site does not give a founding year, so treat that history as a reference-source account.

How big it is

KOBI 5 reported on December 4, 2024 that Britt said it sold more than 61,000 tickets that year.
